As an Intervention Support Teacher, we work with Tier 3 students in reading for  Kindergarten through 4th Grade as well as offer math support for 3rd and 4th Grade students.  We have groups of 4-6 students for 30 minutes a day outside of the classroom using district directed curriculum to fill in academic gaps to achieve student grade level success.  In addition, we track data on all students at Lone Star to ensure every student’s individual needs are being met.

The ESL program in Keller ISD is designed to develop and support listening, speaking, reading, and writing for students who are not yet proficient in English. Since social language is acquired first, we work intensively on gaining academic language to help students achieve success in the classroom. We serve more than 57 different languages across the district and work hard to meet the cognitive and emotional needs of each child by not only focusing on core content, but also by valuing home language and culture.
